Anthropic has opened Claude Marketplace, a single public catalog for connectors, plugins, Claude-powered software and consulting partners, BleepingComputer reported Sunday. The marketplace lists more than 2,000 connectors and plugins, and according to gHacks it went live on Sept. 23.
What Happened
The marketplace is organized into three sections. The first holds connectors and plugins from companies including Atlassian, Google, Microsoft, Notion and Salesforce, which let Claude reach data and tools in those services. The second sells agents and products built on Claude by partners such as CrowdStrike, Cursor, Harvey, Legora, Lovable and Snowflake; gHacks also lists Hebbia among the launch partners. The third lists consulting and systems-integration firms, including Accenture, Boston Consulting Group and Deloitte, that help companies deploy Claude.
Developers build connectors and plugins with the Model Context Protocol, or MCP, and Agent Skills, and submit them through Anthropic’s documentation. Companies that sell Claude-powered software can apply to have their products listed, and consulting firms join through a separate application form, gHacks reported.
The catalog is public and can be browsed on Anthropic’s Claude website.
Why It Matters
The most significant detail for enterprise buyers is how purchases are paid for. According to gHacks, organizations can buy marketplace products using a portion of their committed Anthropic spend. That could let a company that has already signed a large Claude contract add tools such as a coding agent or a legal AI product out of money it has already committed, and it gives partners a way to sell into budgets that are already approved.
Anthropic has not published details on whether individual Pro and Max subscribers get the same purchasing options as enterprise customers, gHacks said. Neither outlet reported how Anthropic shares revenue with listed partners or how submissions are reviewed.
The listing process also reinforces Anthropic’s standards. MCP, which Anthropic introduced in 2024 and which has since been adopted by other AI developers, is the required way to build connectors, and Agent Skills is the packaging format for plugins. Every listing therefore extends the reach of both.
Context
BleepingComputer compared the effort to a Google Play Store for AI features and noted that OpenAI’s earlier attempt at an apps marketplace did not succeed. It also argued that backing from large partners such as Microsoft and Google may not be enough on its own to make the marketplace work.
AI developers are competing to become the platform through which companies buy agents and integrations, not just the supplier of the underlying model. A marketplace that puts software, connectors and consulting in one catalog, with purchases that can draw on an existing Anthropic contract, is a direct move toward that position. Unlike a model API, it also gives Anthropic a role in which third-party products its customers discover and buy.
What to Watch
Key signals include how quickly partners list paid agents, whether Anthropic discloses usage or revenue figures for the marketplace, and whether it clarifies terms for Pro and Max subscribers. The review and approval process for third-party submissions, which neither outlet described, will matter for security teams deciding which connectors to allow inside their Claude deployments.
